Boston, MA 06/24/2014 (wallstreetpr) – The Regional Council Chairman, Carl Holst (V) and Vice President at Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), Hans Hwang on June 23, 2014 signed the Memorandum of Understanding for offering advanced video solutions in mental healthcare facilities and hospitals in Southern Denmark region. By making use of the advanced video solutions, the healthcare specialists will be able to get efficiency in the patient engagements, while also improving the patient experience. This will help in making the Southern Denmark’s health care system; the most advanced one of its type in Denmark.
Highlights of the MoU
The aim of MoU is to allow for more tele-psychiatry. For example, it will enable the doctors in Southern Denmark to conduct video consultations as well with their psychiatric patients through the Internet.
The MoU will cover five sub projects, which will be completely rolled out by the end of 2014.
The MoU will give a freedom to the patients to be treated in their homes only or at the psychiatric wards close to their home through videoconferencing.
The Memorandum encompasses the complete plan for understanding how the IT can offer support to the future challenges of the region which may include communications across the hospitals and clinics.
Hospitals also planned to use video solutions in a further improved way in future as well. These solutions will enable the medical students as well as the doctors to follow consultations as well as surgery and thus offer better training for effective treatment of their patients even if they are not physically present close to the patients.
The Region of Southern Denmark also announced that it will implement the video solutions for optimization of the performance like for multidisciplinary conferences or meetings in the cancer treatments.
