The collocation service provider, based in Chicago, has selected the network specialist, Ciena Corporation (NYSE:CIEN), to connect its data center in Chicago located in the western suburbs to others including in 350 Cermak. CDC expects to provide high bandwidth and low latency 100G network to serve financial service companies, content delivery networks, service providers and research institutions with the help of Ciena’s platform. CDC aims to support applications including storage networking, cloud computing and big data for all these enterprises. It will also be additionally capable of providing carrier level connectivity to tier 3 and tier 2 network after binding out its examining and Internet exchange community. The installation is forecasted to complete in July this year.
