CGI Group Inc. (USA) (NYSE:GIB) Opens Sophisticated UK Security Operations Center In South Wales

Boston, MA 10/09/2014 (wallstreetpr) – CGI Group Inc. (USA) (NYSE:GIB) disclosed that it has opened sophisticated security operations center in South Wales in the United Kingdom. This would enable offering 24/7 real-time protective monitoring system for its clients’ in-house, as well as, cloud-based.

First In UK

The company stated that its fresh cybersecurity center in Reading would offer its clients with an elevated threat investigation service, its statement indicated. It said that security operations center or SOC was the first in Britain and was among ten SOCs that it globally operates.

CGI Group Inc. (USA) (NYSE:GIB) said that its global centers handled more than 74 million cyber events every day for their clients. It pointed out that data would be gathered from its extensive sources range from its SOC. It included system of intrusion detection, prevention, web application firewalls, and in-house systems, applications running inside the cloud and anti-virus systems.

The company disclosed that it would offer clients with alerts on real-time basis of external, as well as, internal threats. This would enable immediate action to be taken to defend key data and systems.

Cyberseurity Center

CGI Group Inc. (USA) (NYSE:GIB) said that its Reading, a cybersecurity center, would offer investigation in unison with the SOC and would respond to more advanced and complex threats of cybersecurity. It would also be able to offer support proactively by aligning network behavioral analysis, techniques, data mining, packet analysis and malware. Besides, information gathered from intelligence monitoring, and digital forensics would also be provided to the clients in advance.

CGI Group Inc. (USA) (NYSE:GIB)’s VP for global cybersecurity services, John Proctor, said that threats from cybersecurity were increasingly in the global nature and more sophisticated. He said that its protective monitoring and enhanced investigation services would further strengthen its security cover globally. He also said that clients in Britain would be able to benefit from its global presence. The comments assume importance in the wake of cyberattack on the financial institutions.
