Centurylink Inc (NYSE:CTL) Brings Prism TV to Portland

Centurylink Inc (NYSE:CTL) is going to make available the Prism TV subscriptions for its Portland customers. According to CenturyLink’s Vice President of Operations (Oregon and southwest Washington) Darrion Bowers, the move was just a part of their promise to provide the latest and best services to their customers. He said that the Prism TV was a technological innovation that no one else has brought to the area so far. As part of the service, the users will get a digital connection with better interactive features and even offers more HD channel options that the cable and satellite services.

Charlie Hales, Mayor of Portland welcomed the launch of Prism TV by CenturyLink and said that the place was an innovation hub, and this service was a value addition to the television services available in the city. He said that the 1 Gigabit IPTV platform that the company has brought to the fore will help provide unmatched entertainment services to the Portland residents at home or their business.

Features Of Prism TV

The Prism TV comes with a wireless set-top box, DVR, an app for the mobile, video on demand and an app center for social networking access. As an inaugural offer, Centurylink Inc (NYSE:CTL) will charge $65 per month for a single TV with DVR and HD service, making it much cheaper than the services like Comcast.

In the mobile segment, content is available for channels like HBO GO, STARZ Play and MAX GO and various sports networks like NFL, SEC, and others. The launch of Prism TV has already provided a competitive edge to CenturyLink in Portland. Offering better services is something that is the need of the day to keep the customers abreast with the latest technological innovations.

Limited Availability

The service is not available throughout the city at present. Some of the communities include Sunnyside, Hawthorne, Belmont, Richmond, Mt. Tabor, Kerns, Hosford-Abernethy, Creston-Kenilworth, Sellwood-Moreland, Brooklyn, and Laurelhurst.
