CBS Corporation (NYSE:CBS): When A Lot Depends On Decisions!

Boston, MA 03/31/2014 (wallstreetpr) – America’s mass media corporation, CBS Corporation (NYSE:CBS) is on a joy ride with plenty of deals coming up in its kitty. CBS is aggressively acquiring the market share by application of its double-pronged strategy. At one side entering into promising deals and on the other hand simultaneously making investment in innovative technologies and advancements is showing positively on the business.

Internet-TV Service

CBS Corporation (NYSE:CBS) is in talks of launching its own Internet TV series to effectively compete with its competitor – Aero Inc. It is planning to launch its TV series if Aero Inc. is allowed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court to broadcast programming over Internet. There is wide retaliation against the setup of Aero as it is against the business model of the industry wherein the cable companies pay prices to the broadcasters for distribution of programmes despite its free availability over air through giant antennas.

The federal Appeals Court created a stir and apprehension in favor of Aero Inc. its decision favoring Aero Inc. directly threatens the primitive business model thereby setting up a blueprint for consideration of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. .

Thus, in a calculative bid, CBS may launch the programme as an extension to cable TV i.e. on the Internet version.

Consumer lawsuit against publishers

Consumers in almost 23 states and Union territories have joined together against a suit of class action. The suit is against Apple Inc. along with five other publishers for fixing of e-book prices and thereby violating anti-trust laws. CBS Corporation’s Simon & Schuster played a vital role in consonance with Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and thereby booked for the same charge.  Damages equaling $840 million is demanded by the consumers.

CBS Corporation (NYSE:CBS) has a lot of decisions and plans depending on litigation. It is all set with its business strategy and in any case is availing a win-win situation in case of decision pertaining to Aero Inc.
