The news that led to Cannabis Science’s robust momentum is its early morning announcement that the company’s full-holding subsidiary Cannabis Science International Holding BV has reached an agreement with the Institute for Research, Hospitalization and Health Care on Ageing (INFRCA) in Italy.
Initial Results Promising
As a result of the agreement, Cannabis Science Inc (OTCMKTS:CBIS) will be able to start pre-clinical studies for a range of cannabinoid formulations to test their toxity and efficacy in animal models for a number of neurobehavioral disorders like sleep disorders etc. The company currently has first formulation for the targeted disorders in pre-clinical development stage and INRCA’s researcher Marco Malavolta said that the preliminary results are promising.

In the meanwhile, another cannabis based biotechnology company, Nuvilex Inc (OTCMKTS:NVLX) announced today that Dr. Richard M. Hyslop, who is a professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) along with Dr. Corina Brown of UNC will present at the 248th American Chemical Society National Meeting & Exposition. The meeting is scheduled to commence on August 10 and will continue through August 14, 2014 in San Francisco, California. The theme of the meeting is based on “Chemistry and Global Stewardship”. Both Dr. Hyslop and Dr. Brown will talk about the features of Nuvilex’s patented Cell-in-a-Box® technology as a stage upon which therapy for cancerous tumors could be created.
Dr. Hyslop is currently involved in examining Nuvilex Inc (OTCMKTS:NVLX)’s proprietary “cell-in-a-box” technology for its efficacy in treating cancer. The main objective of research conducted by Dr. Hyslop is to create a “green” approach for treating “solid” tumors, primarily those of pancreas and brain, with cannabis based constituents.
