Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:BRCD) Launches First Open Brocade Vyatta Platform

Boston, MA 06/13/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Earlier this week, Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:BRCD) unveiled its Brocade Vyatta Platform, which forms the first part of its multiyear phase strategy. The platform provides a modular and open networking platform for cloud as well as telecommunications service providers.

First Platform With Open Strategy

Since the platform supports both subscriber and Application clouds, therefore, it takes the pride to be the first platform to adopt open strategy in the industry. The Brocade Vyatta Platform clearly complies with the requirements of ETSI NFV ISG and consists of verified technologies such as ‘Network Functions Virtualization’ (NFV) and evolving ‘Software-Defined Networking’ (SDN). These technologies are based on open standards as well as open source initiatives. Also, the Brocade Vyatta Platform adopts recognized core components, such as its ‘vRouter’ and ‘Brocade vADX™’ products, coupled with the open source software projects such as ‘OpenStack’ and ‘OpenDaylight’.

Three Core Layers

Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:BRCD) Vyatta Platform is designed in a way that creates three core layers: one of NFV Connection Services, second of SDN Structural Services and third of Functional Orchestration. Every single layer of the design is modular and allows customers to choose the solutions or products that best fit their individual data center need. At the same time, the modular and open nature of the platform facilitates interoperability and provides greater choice for customers. The interaction within the layers uses visible standards-based methods and protocols, which includes REST APIs and the NETCONF/YANG model, to make sure interoperability of configuration is in place at all times.

Thus, by adopting Brocade Vyatta Platform as a software platform approach, customers could easily and effectivelytake control over eachlayer of their infrastructure. Also, the adoption will make sure thatthe customers are taking leverage of the right components and adapt more swiftly to changing business conditions, while keeping their CapEx and OpEx under optimum levels.
