Boston, MA 09/18/2014 (wallstreetpr) – BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) continues to push for market-share in the smartphone landscape after unveiling it’s new smartphone, P’9983 in partnership with Porsche Design Luxury brand. The device is set to hit the markets as early as October after official unveiling in Dubai, according to NDTV Gadgets.
Phone’s Specs and Features
The new smartphone comes with a 3.1 inch HD touch screen and a 1.5 GHZ dual-core QUALCOMM’s snapdragon processor. A 2GB RAM will also be on offer with an inbuilt storage capacity of 64GB that is expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD slot. The Smartphone is 4G LTE enabled with a 2Mega Pixel camera.
P’9983 is the third smartphone that BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) has launched in partnership with Porsche although its price has not yet been issued. P’9983 comes with premium features with its camera lens made of Saphire glass.
BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)’s new smartphone features a Porsche Design floating logo with a chassis sporting forged stainless steel. Users will also enjoy a special glass weave technology fitted at the back of the new BlackBerry’s innovation. Porsche Design P’9983 is also BlackBerry’s first QWERTY smartphone that can be compared to the High-end BlackBerry 10.
Improved Security
The Smartphone is expected to help the ailing Canadian-company on it’s push to tap into emerging markets. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Samsung have dealt Blackberry a major blow in terms of market share in developed markets.
Seen as one of the ways of improving the new device security aspects, each phone will come with a unique pin. Just like other BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)’s Smartphone’s the new phone will be pampered with goodies such as BlackBerry Hub and BlackBerry Hub essential for downloading business and productivity apps. BlackBerry also announced that users of the new smartphone will enjoy access to Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN)’s app store having signed a licensing agreement earlier in the year.
Accessories available for the phone include a handicraft Italian leather backdoors that will be available in a variety of colors.
