Boston, MA 10/21/2013 (wallstreetpr) – Troubled BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is launching its BlacBerry Z30 smartphone line in India. However, to compete effectively against its rivals iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy S4, the device looks set for under-pricing at below Rs 45K.
The launch of this BBRY’s new flagship on which a lot of rebound hope seems to be pegged is set for October 24. This comes at a time when the company’s future is still very unclear with a lot of takeover bids on the air.
The Ontario Waterloo-based company is struggling to remain relevant to the investor community in a market where rivals Apple Inc and Samsung Electronic have dominated.
This top-of-the-line device was unveiled in Kaula Lumpur last month. It effectively takes over the flagship crown from BlackBerry Z10 which was launched earlier in the year. This device is also known as A10 or A-Series.
The 5-inch touch screen device runs on 10 OS version 10.2 and comes with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It also has 8 MG rear camera and a 2 MP front camera. The Z30 has 2880 nAh capacity of removable battery and also boasts 1.7 gigahertz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. This smartphone also comes with 16 GB internal memory which can be expanded to 64 GM on microSD card and it comes with a RAM of 2 GB.
These features make Z30 a perfect competitor for Apple’s iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy S4 plus a host of other smart-devices from Microsoft and Google which are also eyeing the Indian market. Apple’s iPhone 5S is set for launching in India on November 1, slightly a week after Z30 launch in the same market. Obviously a grueling smartphone battle is shaping up in one of the world’s largest economies.
Accord to BBRY, Z30 is the best, fastest and most advanced devices it has produced to-date. This claim is likely to give Z30 some market head start in India. In fact, the device has already received a lot of positive reviews.
With $4.31 billion in market cap now, BBRY closed the previous trading session up 2.20% to settle $8.28.
