Boston, MA 09/05/2014 (wallstreetpr) – BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) the blue-blood mobile device maker with a native OS, which once had the creme of corporate world toting it as a status symbol in the corridors of power in Department of Defense in the US until a year ago, is sadly, not launching its by far most differently-designed and styled flagship model – Passport in the US, as yet!
Confirming this was the blog update at the official website, of BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY), which stated, “On September 24, all eyes will be on BlackBerry as we host exclusive, invite-only events in Toronto, London and Dubai to show off… Well I guess you’ll have to wait and see. The Inside BlackBerry team will be there, along with an exclusive list of media and industry guests, to bring you all the action.”
Blackberry Passport built for productivity
In a major design change, BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) makers have done away with the black plastic casing and microscopic QWERTY keyboard.
Instead, it will arrive in a choice of black or white colors.
The brand new Passport will have 4.5-inch screen with a 1440 X1400-pixel resolution and keyboard, which interestingly, is touch-based. It will also come powered with four microphones and stereo speakers, backed by a massive 3450 mAH battery.
The video of the model clearly establishes the work-horse features which Blackberry hopes to make the sell in the countries it will initial launch. Priced high at likely price of $700 USD for the basic model, the higher end versions are expected to be priced higher.
However, if the U.S. carriers were to choose, this model could well see a launch in the country by November, at subsidized and more affordable data plan, opine experts!
The BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) Passport is built for professionals with an enhanced display, microphones and most importantly the keyboard that is expected to see it drive sales in places such as Dubai and overseas nations.
The demand for this model is expected to increase by Christmas, when Blackberry will likely strike a deal with the U.S. national carriers to cross-price the Passport!
