Boston, MA 09/12/2014 (wallstreetpr) – BGC Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ:BGCP) announced that together with Cantor Fitzgerald has raised around $12 million on BCG Partners tenth annual charity day, celebrated every year on September 11. The amount raised is donated for the cause of charities worldwide. The tenth annual charity day was held in BGC Partners offices including New York, Paris, London, São Paulo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney and other locations.

Significance of the day

BGC Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ:BGCP) have turned the entire significance of the day. September 11, a day that is remembered with tears and sadness, now holds a noble significance for the company. In the sad event, 61 Eurobrokers employees and 658 Cantor employees lost their lives. The Annual Charity day is held in commemoration of these lost lives during the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks. The funds are used to support the charities around the world. Since its inception, the day has raised almost $113 million funds that are used for noble causes worldwide.
