Baidu, Inc. (NASDAQ:BIDU) has announced the companies unaudited third quarter results for the period ending September 30, 2013. Its total revenues during the period were RMB8.892 billion ($1.453 billion), which was a 42.3 per cent rise from the same period last year.
The companies operating profits for the period were RMB3.338 billion or $545.4 million), which was a 1.2 rise from the same period last year.
Robin Li, chairman and chief executive officer of Baidu speaking on the results said, “We are happy with our performance in the quarter as our revenues have continued to grow. Our main products such as Mobile search and Mobile maps have continued to gain pace and we have increased our presence in the segment by our purchase of 91 Wireless.”
The company’s revenues from online marketing in the quarter were RMB8.848 billion ($1.446 billion), which was a 41.7 per cent rise from the same period last year. The company has some 464,000 active online marketing customers in the quarter, which was a 19 per cent raise from the same period last year but a fall of .9 per cent from the second quarter of this financial year.
Its Revenue per online marketing customer for the quarter was about RMB19,100 ($3,121), a 19.4 per cent raise from the same period last year and a 18.6 per cent raise when compared to the second quarter of this year.
Its cost of traffic acquisition as a part of cost of revenues was RMB1.039 billion ($169.7 million), which amounted to 11.7 per cent of total revenues, compared to 8.6 per cent in the same period last year and 11.6 per cent in the second quarter of this year.
Its cost of bandwidth as a part of cost of revenues was RMB512.6 million ($83.8 million), which amounted to 5.8 per cent of total revenues, compared to 4.3 per cent in the same period last year.
