Being at the top of your game and winning on the biggest stages isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be. Sometimes you end up sharing the spotlight with your Danish model girlfriend.
That’s the situation Jannik Sinner found himself in on Sunday. The No. 1 tennis player in the world defeated Alexander “Sascha” Zverev to win back-to-back Wimbledon titles and his girlfriend Laila Hasanovic went viral.
It’s a tough life, but someone has to live it. Credit to Sinner for not allowing it to get the best of him. While he was taking care of business on the court, the cameras managed to find Hasanovic off of it.

Social media took it from there. The 25-year-old Miss Universe finalist is now on the radar of those outside of the tennis and Danish modeling worlds. And the Formula 1 world, for that matter.
Hasanovic, who started a relationship with Jannik Sinner sometime last year, isn’t new to the world of sports either. She dated professional driver Mick Schumacher for roughly three years before splitting in April 2025.
Wimbledon has made stars before. Who could forget Morgan Riddle bursting on the scene in the summer of 2022? Not this guy, and with any luck, Sinner’s girlfriend could be the next to make something of her viral recognition.
Riddle’s now out of the game, having split from Taylor Fritz earlier this year. The sport could use some star power on social media and the timing couldn’t be any better for Hasanovic.
Again, the life of a professional athlete can be trying at times. That isn’t a reality that Sinner isn’t familiar with. He knows all about it and hasn’t been one to shy away from it.
“Of course it’s not easy, I travel a lot and during tournaments I’m very focused. But I think it’s a wonderful thing when you find the right love,” Sinner told Vanity Fair Italia in 2024.
“If you think about it, the best tennis players in the world all have wives and children.”
They don’t all have Danish models who were once Miss Universe finalists. That’s a burden he must bear.
