Applied DNA Sciences Inc (NASDAQ:APDN) Merges With Loftex to Introduce “Innovate With CertainT”

Applied DNA Sciences Inc (NASDAQ:APDN), has proclaimed its partnership with Loftex Home to initiate the ‘Innovate with CertainT,’ the first fully source-verified, recycled components in towels worldwide.

Under the new agreement, Loftex will apply CertainT, an integrated supply chain platform to verify validity from source to retail. With this system, Loftex guarantees towels containing recycled plastic water bottles (PET) are, indeed, reprocessed.

Loftex towels using APDN’s CertainT will commence production during the third quarter of 2017 and this will be launched at the New York Home Fashions Market, on March 27 – 30 at the Loftex Home Showroom, 50 W. 48th St., New York.

According to Loftex’s CEO, Charles Gaenslen, said that the move is in response to the global authenticity concerns and the growing consumer demands to know the originality of their products. The company adopts the APDN’s CertainT to provide the chance to serve customers with sustainable products that are authentic and traceable to their source of origin.

The first Loftex product to apply CertainT innovation is a Terry Bath Towel with molecular-tagged, recycled PET and cotton. These blended cotton recycled PET towel are more sustainable, with superior absorbency and “quick dry” features which are passed to end-users at no extra costs.

The president and CEO of Applied DNA, Dr. James Hayward, revealed that Loftex is one of its primary customers to approve the CertainT platform. According to him, the use of CertainT logo confirms a product’s compliance with the company’s supply chain platform.

APDN’s CertainT platform allows the licensees to distinguish their product brands based on authenticity. Such podiums enable companies such as Loftex to create innovative products making use of an efficient and reliable traceability system with an increased return on investment.

The partnership will see Loftex combining both Applied DNA’s SigNatureT molecular tags and CertainT to provide a single platform for tagging, testing, tracking and tracing products throughout a certified supply chain. This will improve the quality of the products.
