Apple Inc seeking patent on technology- AAPL, BKW, & DISH

The manufacturer of the iPhone as well as the iPad, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), is looking for a technology patent, that can assist the users of the devices avert distraction while driving.

As per the application 20120315880, this technology can establish when a vehicle is being driven and if that is the case, it will send a pre-composed message to the caller. Another feature is that the settings can be made such that device can recognize that the user is busy in conference, is unavailable, etc. and will send suitable message to the caller. This patent application was filed in June

A Californian Company that detects probable copyright violators is requesting patent by U.S on a technology that will bring together the detection of the infringer and the payment for damages to the owner of the rights.

Application 20120310846 covers a technique and a computer program to identify numerous copyright violations, determine an IP address and alerting customer or ISP regarding the same. The application for the patent was filed on May 31.

Burger King Worldwide Inc. (NYSE:BKW) sued a Moscow resident over the names registered by him on the Internet Domain.

The suit is looking for a ban to be imposed on the unlawful use of Burger King Worldwide Inc. (NYSE:BKW)’s trademarks. Also, claimed compensation amount of 500,000 rubles. The case is still running and the subsequent hearing will take place in January.

Livescribe Inc., a manufacturer of the pens those are digital and capable of transferring notes to another device or to a cloud, have taken away from the U.K. stores, its own “Sky Wi-Fi Smartpen”. This step was taken after receiving a complaint of violation from BSkyB, the broadcaster of pay-TV filed on December 6.

A shoe manufacturer in Los Angeles, Mystique LLC sued Marc Fisher Footwear for infringement of copyright of the designs of its two sandals.

Shares of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) were down by 1.42% to close at $526.31

Shares of Burger King Worldwide Inc. (NYSE:BKW) were up by 2.16% to close at $17.04

Shares of DISH Network Corp. (NASDAQ:DISH) were down by 0.50% to close at $35.61.
