Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Poaching Staff From Rivals In Asia?

Boston, MA 03/04/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is keen to improve its financial performance. The company is thus getting many things rolling. Fresh from making impact in China following iPhone distribution deal with China Mobile, the company is back in Asia. But this time around the mission is not about connecting with telecoms operators for iPhone or iPad distribution. Instead, the company is hiring.

But even as Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) goes hiring in Asia, the company can be seen having interest in engineers from rival companies. The company is reportedly winning over engineers from HTC Corp. and other technology firms in Taiwan. All this is in efforts to build strong teams in Taipei and Shanghai, sources said.

Reason for the Asia hiring

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) wants to have in place engineers who can work with its Asian component developers and suppliers. This move will help address, among other things, factory condition issues which have recently been raised at its suppliers. Above all, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) wants to ensure fast and frequent product development and launches. Perhaps this explains why the company is also hiring supply chain managers in the ongoing big hiring in Asia.

Competition has been a major concern for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). And the company hopes that it can fend off the threat from rivals – especially low-cost smartphone vendors – by bringing to the market new products.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s share of global smartphone market has been on the decrease. The company was at the end of the fourth quarter controlling just about 17 percent of the market. That was way below the 20.9 percent market control that it enjoyed a year earlier. Devices powered by Android operating system from Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) are the major threat to Apple Inc.

Taking on rivals

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is cutting deals with more telecoms operators around the world to ensure that its devices attain greater market penetration. The company is also working on a number of new products, including the much-talked-about iWatch. Also, the company is hiring more professionals to ensure that its products quality and production chain doesn’t hurt its performance.
