Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Loses Fight Against Rival Samsung

Apple Inc

Boston, MA 08/29/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) doesn’t like to follow other mobile companies when it comes to mobile technology and when others follow AAPL, they may have to stop their production. The story doesn’t end like this anymore. AAPL filed a case against its rival Samsung saying that Samsung copied the features of iPhones. The case went on for a while, but at last AAPL had to take a step back, not because it wanted to, but because a federal judge rejected its plea against Samsung.

Road so far:

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) reported four months ago that Samsung copied trendsetting iPhone’s features. The case went in courtroom and AAPL was awarded $119 million as recovery of damages that it had to suffer due to Samsung’s infringements on technology that was used in iPhone. Although AAPL said that this amount was way less than the actual loss of $2.2 billion in damages that it had to bear. As per the reports, AAPL wanted Lucy Koh, U.S. District Judge in San Jose, California to issue an order which would prevent future sales of nine Samsung mobiles that copied iPhone’s features. But after a few hearings, Lucy Koh refused to pass such order, saying AAPL couldn’t clearly represent its point. She also said that AAPL was unable to prove as how did Samsung affected its sales. AAPL had licensed a few features previously which were later used by Samsung in its smart phones.

When reporters tried to contact anyone from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), no one showed up. The company refused to comment on this issue, while Samsung welcomed this decision of Lucy Koh. Samsung said, “It has proven that we have been working hard to provide a wide range of options to all the consumers in a decent price range.” Arguably the auto-correction feature of iPhone was copied by the Korean smartphone manufacturer. AAPL is all set to launch eighth generation of iPhone next month.
