Boston, MA 10/21/2013 (wallstreetpr) – The chief executive officer of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is aware of the intense competition that iPad are facing with other companies who are launching high end tablets packed with wonderful features and smart design at low rates.
There are reports in the market that state that in the recent event where news related to new launch is likely to be made, a high definition iPad mini along with an even thinner iPad is likely to make a debut. The event will be held on San Francisco on Oct. 22, 2013.
Recently, Apple has faced a decline in profits and even stock value. The problem has been faced both with sales of iPad as well as iPhone. The main cause of the slump in sales is the high end price that Apple offers and the competitors who are constantly slashing their rates.
It is worth adding that iPad is the second best selling product for Apple after iPhone and it is the new models which are yet to be announced which can help Apple regain the pedestal where it was once seated.
As per a report released by a researcher IDC, in the second quarter, Apple witnessed a slump in the tablet market as the share fell down from 60% to 32%. Although, the sales of iPad have more than doubled ever since they made their debut back in 2010, the growth in sales have saturated considerably. The growth hasn’t moved beyond 66% ever since June 2012.
A spokeswoman for Apple declined to make any comment on the upcoming event. Even the CEO commented that it is unfair to judge the success of a firm by simply analyzing the market share data. He is optimistic that iPads will continue to remain one of the popular choices among users. There are reports and data that prove that nearly 84% of traffic from tablets comes from iPad and this is a proof of the popularity of this gadget.
