Boston, MA 04/11/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has lined up several new product releases this year. There are currently rumors about the specs and design of the product that the Cupertino-based company will release in 2014.
In the struggle to maintain sales in the red-hot smartphone market, the company is expected to release a refreshed version of its iPhone smartphones. The company is reportedly working on two iPhone 6 smartphones featuring larger screens. The two rumored devices are expected to come with display screens of 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch. Moreover, the devices may feature sapphire glass as Apple Inc recently entered a contract with a well-known sapphire manufacturer.
Inclusion of sapphire glass in the devices will ensure that, among other things, that the devices become resistant to scratches.
iWatch in the market
In addition to large-display iPhones, the company is also expected to unveil its much-awaited iWatch. There are widespread rumors that the company will debut iWatch this year; however, the company is yet to confirm the date of the release of the smart-watch.
With its iWatch, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will be struggling to wrestle the market from Samsung which currently offers smart wrist-wear known as Samsung Galaxy Gear. However, the penetration of Samsung Galaxy Gears is still low in the markets where the two giant tech companies compete for market share.
Industry analysts and pundits estimate that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) could price its iWatch device upward of $1,000. However, some experts believe that the device could also sell for as low as $299 or thereabout.
Regardless of the amount Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) decides to charge for iWatch, the company expects to generate significant revenue from the smart wrist-wear market.
Cost of market competition
Given the intense competition in the tech market, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will likely spend a lot more on marketing activities to promote its new products. The company currently faces declining sales in markets that it once dominated. On that note, and given that the company does not always temper with prices to win customers, the company is expected to put in place a robust marketing machine this year and in the future.
