Membership Rewards Program
American Express through its Membership Rewards program offers millions of rewards from over 500 associated brands. The Card Members earns a point for every time a dollar is charged. The points can be redeemed from a wide range of reward categories. Also, there is no maximum limit to earn points and the points have no expiration date.
Uber iOS application provides an option to the members of US card holders who are a part of Membership Rewards Program to earn reward points or rides. The members can use the reward points to use the facility of Uber rides or they can earn 2x reward points. It is a first-of-its-kind technology integration of loyalty reward points in any application. American Express Company (NYSE:AXP) provides real-time benefit to its customers through the association.
Redemption method of Uber rides
Uber operates in about 60 cities in the US. To avail the rides, customers first need to enroll themselves. They need to download the app and click ‘enroll me.’ The app provides two options. They can use “Earn 2x Points” to earn points or “Use Points” for the redemption for Uber rides. After enrolling, they can easily select ride and pick up location.
The members receive an email receipt when the points are earned or redeemed.
The members should be cautious while redeeming the points with Uber rides. In the case of low points, they will be charged full fare. Still, the members will earn 2x points for that transaction.
Sixth Star Awards Program
Uber has also decided to recognize driver partner having highest rating. A prize value of $1k along with the award will be given to the selected driver partner. American Express Company (NYSE:AXP) will fund the program.
