Boston, MA 06/11/2014 (wallstreetpr) – American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. (NYSE:AEO) held 2nd Annual “Better World Community Day” this Tuesday on 10th June, 2014. About 1300 employees volunteered this function. They participated in 37 various community projects giving back to society in New York, Pittsburgh, China, and Hong Kong etc.

The Vice President of Social Responsibility & External Engagement, Helga Ying was excited as the company celebrated this day globally with so many associates. He stated to be committed and keep putting efforts to give back to this society in order to make it rich.
American Eagle Outfitters has contributed to several charitable causes for its customers till date in the areas of young women’s health, environment, youth empowerment and education.
The Various Projects
- Pittsburgh – Volunteers packed cheer bins for the birthday of homeless children under Beverly’s Birthdays project. As per Beverly’s Birthdays project, birthday gifts are being delivered in Pittsburgh region.
- New York – For the event of East River Park beautification, about 150 volunteers along with the Student Conservation Association (SCA) made the park ready for summers by making compost, weeding and planting new samplings around the park.
- San Francisco – Volunteers participated in activities like cooking, gardening, animal care, and fence building etc. by traveling to Slide Ranch (Marin) with the mission of connecting Bay area agriculture focusing environmental education.
- Canada – In partnership with Covenant House (Toronto) associates cleaned, organized, painted rooftops including plantations.
- Mexico – For conservation of nature and better education of public to protect Royal Mexican Eagle, associates conducted Trainings & workshops.
- China – Employees shared afternoon meal with ninety students at the Shanghai School for Deaf and Mute and also presented them a shirt & a pair of AEO jeans.
- Hong Kong – Volunteers created mosaic wall on the outdoors of Sam Shui Natives Association Lau Pun Cheung special School. This school is meant for autistic and mentally challenged children.
