Mobile App

The customers of Amazon Local Register would have to access its customer support team and also in-app tracking tools. The company, which has been under fire from investors for failing to report a profit in the last few quarters, said that it would reward its customers who sign up the program before October 31. The reward would be in the form of low promotional rate of 1.75% a card swipe on all debit and credit cards till the end of January 1, 2016.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) said that the process of registration would be simple in three steps. Customers can establish an account, buy a $10 card reader, and then download the mobile app, which was free from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s App Store, Amazon Appstore, and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Play. The company also said that it offers free two-day shopping on amazon.com to the customers, who buy the card reader from today.

The company allayed the fears of customers about the compatibility aspect since the reader card, and mobile app are compatible with different types of tablets and smartphones, be it Apple’s iOS7 or select Android smartphones or Kindle Fire tablets.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) also indicated that customers would get back the first $10 of transaction fees once the app was put into use.
