Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) to expand grocery delivery

Boston, MA 27/06/2013 (wallstreetpr) – The company, Amazon.com, Inc. recently announced that it is going to expand its fresh grocery delivery service to Los Angeles. The service carries a yearly fee of $299 and ships the products for free on some qualified orders. This service has existed solely in Seattle for a few years. Now, as the company has learned from its mistakes of past of failed grocery delivery companies, it has been slowly expanding its service. The company has planned to expand the service to San Francisco and to around 20 more markets by the end of 2014.

There is news about this company which has announced today that it has expanded the multiyear licensing agreement with PBS Distribution which will allow the prime members of Amazon to instantly scream past seasons of PBHG.PK (PBS) programs with no additional cost. Prime Instant Video will now include hundreds of additional episodes of popular PBS programs including Ken Burns, Masterpiece and NOVA documentaries in addition to even more great Kids shows such as Wild Kratts, Dinosaur Train, Daniels Tigers Neighborhood, Arthur and Caillou.

All the shows will be available in  Kindle Free Time Unlimited, which is a service built just for small children who can explore all their TV shows, movies, educational apps, games and books. This service will also provide tools to the parents to manage the screen time of their kids. The Amazon’s Director of Digital Video Content Acquisition, Brad Beale, said that Viacom Deal brings some programs to Prime Instant Video which makes it a perfect place for the whole family to select their favorites.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) closed at $277.57 after moving 2.01% (or $5.48) upwards. The intra-day trading of the stock ranges from $273.50 to $277.98. $126.36 billion is the market capitalization of the stock. 3.03 Million Shares have traded during the day which is higher than the average volume of 2.70 million.
