Alcatel Lucent SA (ADR) (NYSE:ALU) Strengthens Its Network Security

Boston, MA 05/27/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Alcatel Lucent SA (ADR) (NYSE:ALU) and Thales entered into a collaborative partnership in which, Thales will acquire the cyber security and communication security services of Alcatel-Lucent. The strategic partnership intends to provide end to end solutions in the areas of network security.

Mutual benefits

The combination will be complementary to each other as it integrates the Alcatel-Lucent’s telecom security expertise with the additional services of Thales. The partnership will facilitate Alcatel-Lucent to offer highly secured end to end network security solutions to its existing and new customers.

Alcatel-Lucent mainly operates from Villarceaux, Toulouse and Orvault of France, Germany, Belgium and the UK. The partnership will also expand the Company’s commercial proposition in cyber security.

On the other end, Thales is a global leader in cyber security products and solutions for satellite networks and military infrastructure. Alcatel Lucent SA (ADR) (NYSE:ALU) has strong capabilities in cryptography and offers wide range of security solutions in the Defence & Security and Aerospace & Transportation markets.

Thales has a strong presence in the Europe and the strategic partnership with Alcatel-Lucent will further strengthen its position in the cyber security. It also increases its potential over telecommunication and become a leader in Europe.

Even, in 2013, Thales generated revenues of €14.2 billion and Alcatel-Lucent’s total revenue were €14.4 billion and Europe represents only 25% of overall revenue. So, on approval, the strategic partnership will increase the future revenue for the both companies.
