Recently, the Company extends the services of small cell solution while partnering with Denmark’s largest telecommunications Company – TDC to address the growing need for coverage and capacity.
Driving factors
Factor 1:
Denmark’s policies are more stringent as the country is more conscious towards the environment. Therefore, they allow services that contribute to a green and sustainable society. Alcatel-Lucent’s small cells devices transform the traditional network architecture and integrate a large number of small cells. The design will address such environmental conditions and deliver quality services to its customers.
Factor 2:
Enterprise customers experience network issues as the network access often blocks by the buildings and the environmental conditions. So, TDC will improve the enterprise customers’ experience by increase the capacity and enhance the coverage in the office buildings.
Factor 3:
Small cells offer ultra broadband access and services through advanced multimedia applications. It enables TDC to offer the advanced services to its customers at lower cost that also consumes less energy.
Expansion plan
TDC will expand the operation in two phases. In Phase one, TDC targets to provide coverage for the VIP Enterprise customers in 2014. Then, the Phase two will start in 2015 in which TDC will extend the small cell services to retail customers as per their enhancement services.
As per the plan, Alcatel Lucent SA (ADR) (NYSE:ALU) will supply 9362 Enterprise Cell and 9366 Small Cell Gateway to meet the demand of TDC’s enterprise customers. The Company will also supply 9361 Home Cell for its residential consumers.
Conclusion
The expansion of small cell operation in Demark increase Alcatel Lucent SA (ADR) (NYSE:ALU)’s small cell portfolios to more than 65 commercial contracts. It extends the Company’s services over 45 countries, and the ongoing trial over 20 countries will further enhance its small cell business.
