Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD) Needs Some More Time To Start Selling New Chips, Says CEO Rory Read

Boston, MA 09/05/2014 (wallstreetpr) – It is not the best time for Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD) to operate in the market as it still relies on dated technology, whereas other companies offer latest technology and tools to their customers. According to Rory Read, Chief Executive Officer, of AMD, “Our company is going through a ‘bumps in the road‘ phase due to its over-dependence on dated technology. We need some more time to launch new chips.”

As per the information revealed by the people close to this matter, launch of new chips will take around one year that will prove to be a crucial time for AMD. Experts agree with the opinions of AMD’s CEO. During the interview, when reporters asked about this issue from the CEO of Sunnyvale, said that the launch of new chips would take another 18 months. Skills of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD) management will repeatedly be tested during this time.

Leadership of Read has affected AMD in a good way:

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD)- couldn’t perform up to the expectations in previous quarters due to itsrivalry with Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC), which is known for providing latest chips to customers all around the world. Read, the former Lenovo Group Ltd. and International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM). Executive has taken the responsibility to bring AMD out of this trouble. It is his fourth year with AMD, and he has done quite good job so far to make AMD survive the tough time.

His main focus is on accelerating sales activities in those markets where Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD) does not have to compete with the largest chip-makers directly.  He thinks that game consoles and medical & industrial equipment market can open new doors of success for the company in the near future. Hard work pays off, at least in case of Read. His various innovative initiatives have brought two well-known companies on the floor. As per reports, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Sony Corp (ADR)(NYSE:SNE) have designed their new gaming consoles with the help of technology provided by AMD.
