The earning essentially beat consensus estimates of total revenues of $2.22 billion on an EPS of 73 cents.
The posting of the results caused Activision Blizzard shares to soar in the marketby 14% reach a high point of $19.30 a share. Had the shares closed at this point, this could have been the highest closing price on a split adjusted basis.
Call of duty bolstered the performance
Call of duty and world of Warcraft franchise performed above expectation causing the positive solid results for the quarter. Activison Blizzard is currently engaging a three year old development cycle that should give its team more time to polish, in a bid of delivering the best experience to fans with one of kind games.
