(NASDAQ:AAPL) would not be successful at selling away 50% of the new iPhones in the markets of United States directly through the retail stores owned by the company. Tim Cook, the Chief Executive Officer of the company, had earlier confided that the sales of iPhones would prove to create a halo effect for the iPads, meaning that the consumers who buy the iPhones from the company\u2019s retail stores would also be attracted to the other products and services provided by the company.<\/p>\n
However, the recent research conducted by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners had reported that the objective of selling 50% of iPhones through company owned stores is highly unattainable, primarily owing to the fact that there are only 250 stores in the United States directly owned by Apple compared to the 9000 stores owned and operated by the carrier partners. The report also commented that in addition to increasing the retail footprint of the company through more stores, Apple should also focus on improving the layout of its presently jammed stores to effectively handle more sales associates, inventory and obviously customers. To achieve the objective of CEO, it is essential that the sales capacity of the company owned retail stores be effectively increased.<\/p>\n
Shares of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) had moved on to gain 0.34% on Thursday and thereby closed at $431.76 per share for the day. The company had recorded intraday price fluctuations moving from as low as $430.61 to as high as $434.87 on the day. The 52 week low for the stock is at $385.10 and 52 week high is at $705.07 per share.<\/p>\n
The company holds 940.09 million shares and 62% of institutional ownership with a market cap of $405.89 billion.
