(NYSE:VZ) which would be forced to make changes in the company\u2019s strategies in the forthcoming quarters and years. In the recently announced financial performance results for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2013, the company had reported revenues of $29.83 billion and had provided earnings per share at 73 cents to its investors. These results have minimally surpassed the estimates of analysts for the company\u2019s second quarter earnings which were fixed at $29.8 billion revenues and 72 cents of EPS.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, the shares of Verizon Communications had been making less than average returns in the market for this year of 2013. The shares had so far made a gain of just 17%, while the returns recorded by the S&P 500 index are at 18%. However, all such gains in share prices had not been effective to push out the company from its leading position as the biggest mobile carrier in the United States. The stock had proved to be performing well at 17% gains from January 2013, compared to the 6.5% gains of AT&T Inc and 10% gains of Sprint Nextel Corporation.<\/p>\n
Shares of Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) had moved on to gain 1.52% on Thursday and thereby closed at $49.97 per share for the day. The company had recorded intraday price fluctuations moving from as low as $49.19 to as high as $50.33 on the day. The 52 week low for the stock is at $40.51 and 52 week high is at $54.31 per share.<\/p>\n
