Florida-based celebrity chef Robert Irvine shared his rib roast recipe<\/a> with Fox News Digital for any special occasion on the calendar this fall or winter.<\/p>\n

The thoughtful and hearty dish requires just six simple ingredients for the meal \u2014\u00a0and this entr\u00e9e spends most of its time cooking in the oven.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I consider this the ultimate low-effort main dish<\/a> for Christmas dinner,” he said.<\/p>\n

The chef and host of the popular Food Network show “Restaurant: Impossible” said to not overthink the main entr\u00e9e at any upcoming gathering, as the typical eye-catcher tends to be the extensive side offerings.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Irvine said to buy the prime-grade ribs from a local butcher to help with the cooking process<\/a> and to ensure that nothing is overcooked.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His one recommendation is to check the roast often \u2014\u00a0because you can\u2019t turn back the cooking clock.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Here’s his recipe.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Makes five servings<\/p>\n

Cook time: roughly 1\u00bd hours\u00a0<\/p>\n

3 lb. rib roast<\/p>\n

2 tablespoons kosher salt<\/p>\n

2 tablespoons black pepper<\/p>\n

2 sprigs rosemary<\/p>\n

3 garlic cloves<\/p>\n

2 tablespoons red wine<\/p>\n

\u00bd cup sour cream<\/p>\n

1 cup mayonnaise<\/p>\n

2 tablespoons horse radish<\/p>\n

Salt and white pepper<\/p>\n

1. Allow the rib to come to room temperature.<\/p>\n

2. In a food processor, add salt, rosemary, garlic, black pepper and red wine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

3. Spread the salt and rosemary mixture across the rib roast.<\/p>\n

4. Pre-heat the oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.<\/p>\n

5. Cook rib roast at 500 degrees for 45 minutes.<\/p>\n

6. Lower the oven temperature to 325 degrees and cook the roast for another 25 minutes.<\/p>\n

7. Increase the oven temperature to 400 degrees and cook the roast for another 15 to 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

8. Make sure the internal temperature of the roast is 125 degrees. Then allow it to rest for approximately 20 minutes.<\/p>\n

9. Add horseradish sauce for taste.<\/p>\n

1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together sour cream, mayonnaise and horse radish.<\/p>\n

2. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.<\/p>\n

3. Enjoy with rib roast!<\/p>\n
