President\u00a0Biden says he wants simple, status-quo\u00a0legislation to prevent a government shutdown, but\u00a0hidden in\u00a0the fine print\u00a0of\u00a0his\u00a0actual\u00a0funding\u00a0request is\u00a0one of\u00a0the\u00a0most radical, anti-policing, pro-criminal\u00a0proposals\u00a0of his Presidency.<\/p>\n

The Biden White House<\/a> is trying to exploit\u00a0the fog of\u00a0a\u00a0ginned-up\u00a0government-shutdown crisis to\u00a0strike a final, fatal blow against\u00a0immigration law enforcement\u2014by slipping in a loophole that would allow the White House to effectively abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by defunding it.<\/p>\n

Last week, President Biden called on Congress to\u00a0pass\u00a0a\u00a0short-term\u00a0spending bill to keep the government open beyond September 30, when current funding runs out.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Throughout\u00a0September, Biden, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jefferies will claim that this funding\u00a0proposal is “clean”\u2014which in Washington-speak\u00a0means\u00a0it\u00a0simply extends current funding without\u00a0any\u00a0significant new\u00a0provisions. Nothing to see here, they\u2019ll say. A careful read\u00a0reveals that\u00a0nothing could be further from the truth.<\/p>\n

Biden\u2019s\u00a0“clean”\u00a0proposal\u00a0includes a provision that\u00a0allows him to totally defund ICE, the\u00a0federal\u00a0law enforcement agency tasked with protecting the United States from cross-border crime and illegal immigration.<\/p>\n

If you read\u00a0page 51 of the White House\u2019s\u00a0draft legislation<\/a>, you will find a\u00a0provision that would allow\u00a0all\u00a0ICE\u00a0funding\u00a0to be\u00a0redirected\u00a0to “fund community-based residential facilities, and to provide services and support to refugees, asylum seekers, or other migrants,”\u00a0including\u00a0through\u00a0“contracts or through the award of grants or cooperative agreements to non-governmental organizations.” This would\u00a0effectively convert ICE from a law enforcement agency into a U.S. travel agency for illegal aliens and\u00a0into\u00a0a grant-making bureaucracy for sanctuary cities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Remember,\u00a0ICE is the agency that breaks up Mexico-U.S. cartel trafficking of humans and drugs. ICE is the agency that detains violent criminal aliens and returns them to their home countries. ICE is the agency that\u00a0does the most to\u00a0deter cross-border crime<\/a> and illegal immigration by enforcing immigration law in the United States. <\/p>\n

Instead of protecting\u00a0American communities, this\u00a0provision would allow\u00a0all\u00a0past, present, or future\u00a0ICE dollars\u00a0to be used to buy airplane tickets and hotel rooms for illegal immigrants as they are permanently resettled across the United States. Airplane tickets that ICE had been buying to return violent criminal aliens to their home countries will be converted into airplane tickets to fly them to a community near you.<\/p>\n

Biden\u2019s scheme would\u00a0also\u00a0specifically\u00a0allow ICE\u2019s\u00a0remaining\u00a0resources to be sent to sanctuary cities\u00a0for resettlement. These ICE\u00a0taxpayer dollars will\u00a0only\u00a0add to the $104.6 million\u00a0mountain of\u00a0federal funds that New York Sen. Chuck Schumer<\/a> and New York Congressman Hakeem Jeffries slipped in\u00a0earlier this year\u00a0for\u00a0New York City Mayor Eric Adams\u00a0to resettle illegal aliens.<\/p>\n

Despite being\u00a0among the most radical immigration proposals\u00a0ever\u00a0cooked up, Biden\u2019s request has received\u00a0little\u00a0attention from major media outlets.\u00a0How? <\/p>\n

Because the\u00a0Democrat party\u00a0has been\u00a0hijacked\u00a0by its radical wing, which\u00a0has been setting the stage in plain sight, and without scrutiny from a compliant media,\u00a0for a dramatic “transformation” like this since\u00a0Biden\u00a0took office.<\/p>\n

Immediately upon taking office, President Biden dismantled the commonsense border security measures put in place by the\u00a0Trump administration.\u00a0These actions included halting construction of the border wall, eliminating\u00a0the\u00a0“Remain in Mexico” or\u00a0Migrant Protection Protocols,” lifting prohibitions on sanctuary cities. Biden has even\u00a0proposed legislation granting U.S. citizenship to illegal immigrants. He has removed enforcement and removal tools from law enforcement agents and blatantly disregarded requirements for detaining and removing criminal illegal immigrants in the United States. All this while\u00a0dramatically cutting the deportation of illegal aliens.<\/p>\n

In place of immigration enforcement measures,\u00a0President Biden launched\u00a0the Case Management Pilot Program (CMPP),\u00a0which\u00a0diverts funding from immigration law enforcement to provide “services” to “noncitizens in removal proceedings.”\u00a0It\u2019s managed by Church World Service, a left-wing organization that supported\u00a0the “Abolish ICE” movement, a close cousin of the “Defund the Police” movement.<\/a><\/p>\n

Similarly, Biden\u00a0secured record funding for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program \u2013 Humanitarian Relief (EFSP-H),\u00a0which then used\u00a0the good reputations\u00a0of well-meaning charities to launder hundreds of millions of dollars\u2014not just for food and shelter\u2014but to purchase bus, train, and plane tickets to resettle\u00a0illegal aliens throughout the United States. One of the program\u2019s only limitations\u00a0was that aliens couldn\u2019t be transported\u00a0by\u00a0limousine<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Addressing the record-shattering illegal immigration crisis that these measures unleashed, the Biden administration\u2019s pending funding request\u00a0<\/a>replies: “The Administration\u2019s plan is working as intended.”\u00a0What\u2019s the next step?<\/p>\n

Biden,\u00a0serving as a Trojan Horse for\u00a0the radical left\u00a0and\u00a0having set\u00a0the stage for\u00a0the abolition of ICE\u00a0since taking office,\u00a0is now\u00a0using the chaos of a government-shutdown fight to sneak it across the finish line.<\/p>\n

As Democrats have learned from the “Defund the Police” movement, you need not\u00a0always literally<\/i>\u00a0eliminate\u00a0the police.\u00a0Sometimes, destroying morale and diverting funding away from law enforcement will\u00a0do\u00a0the job\u00a0just as well. <\/p>\n

The White House took a page\u00a0from\u00a0this playbook and\u00a0slipped it into draft legislation\u00a0marketed as noncontroversial\u00a0and routine.\u00a0Just sign here, and the government won\u2019t shut down.<\/p>\n

Biden is demanding the ability to totally neuter ICE <\/a>in exchange for simply keeping the government open for several weeks. This is unthinkably radical brinkmanship and political exploitation. <\/p>\n

Ironically,\u00a0these are the\u00a0very\u00a0words that Democrats will use against Republicans in the coming weeks as they\u00a0try\u00a0to lay blame for a possible government shutdown.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So when President Biden,\u00a0Chuck\u00a0Schumer, and\u00a0Hakeem\u00a0Jeffries<\/a> straighten their ties, straighten their faces, look directly into the camera, and tell\u00a0Americans\u00a0that the radical\u00a0Republicans should stop using a routine government funding bill to extract policy outcomes\u2014and that they should instead agree to Democrats\u2019 “clean” proposal\u2014they ought to\u00a0look\u00a0in the mirror instead.<\/p>\n
