After five years and 330 shows, Elton John<\/a> is bidding farewell to touring.<\/p>\n

The singer wrapped his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour in Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

According to the BBC, during the show, the Grammy award-winning music icon told the audience, “It’s been my lifeblood to play for you guys, and you’ve been absolutely magnificent.”<\/p>\n

The tour kicked off in 2018 and was delayed for nearly two years after the COVID-19 pandemic<\/a> in 2020, and finally resumed in 2022.<\/p>\n

On his Instagram, the “Your Song” singer shared a video looking back at some of the highlights from the tour, and wrote in the caption, “What a journey this tour has been and now we find ourselves at the end of it. Tonight is the final night.”<\/p>\n

In the video, it was noted that over 6,250,000 people attended the shows, and the clip shared photos of people in costume, including one of the two marriage proposals that took place.<\/p>\n

In a statement to Fox News Digital, representatives for John confirmed the final concert<\/a> began with “Benny and the Jets,” and included many of his other hits, such as “Tiny Dancer,” “Rocket Man,” and “Candle in the Wind.”<\/p>\n

John confirmed during the show that he would “never be touring again”,\u00a0and said, “I want to appreciate my family, my sons, my husband, everything. I’ve earned it.”<\/p>\n

During the show, a video message from Coldplay\u2019s Chris Martin, telling John and the crowd, “From all the bands and artists you’ve helped and inspired, we love you so much. We are so grateful for everything you’ve done for the Aids Foundation, anytime you’ve been kind to anybody.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

In a statement to Fox News Digital, John said after leaving the stage, “When we set off on my final tour in 2018, I couldn\u2019t have foreseen in my wildest dreams the twists and turns and the highs and lows this tour – and the whole world – would have experienced in the next 5 years. And every step of the way, my fans have been there.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

He continued, “They have stuck with me, they have supported me, they have been patient and they have kept turning out for every single last show. Tonight has been magical. I\u2019m trying to process it and I don\u2019t think it will sink in for a while yet that I\u2019m finally finished touring. I can\u2019t tell you how much I\u2019m going to miss the fans and how much their support has humbled me – it will stay with me forever”.<\/p>\n

The “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour is one of the highest-grossing concert tours ever, reaching $900 million in ticket sales according to Billboard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
