Selina Soule, a track and field champion<\/a> who was forced to compete against biological males in high school, pleaded with other women to take a stand in defense of female athletes as she prepares for a legal battle against the state of Connecticut.<\/p>\n

“Everybody who has encountered\u00a0this issue needs to speak up and\u00a0ask for fairness,” Soule said Wednesday on “America Reports.” “I was one of the very first to\u00a0start speaking on this issue,\u00a0and it\u2019s taken awhile, but we\u00a0are finally starting to get\u00a0somewhere\u2026we need to\u00a0protect every single girl in\u00a0this country,”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Soule urged “everybody out\u00a0there\u2026to start speaking on\u00a0this issue and ask for fairness\u00a0to be restored to women sports.”<\/p>\n

Soule made the comment as she heads back to court to appeal her case challenging a Connecticut ruling that allows transgender students to participate in sports consistent with their preferred gender.<\/p>\n

Soule and other athletes were high school track student-athletes in 2020 when they first filed the lawsuit against the Connecticut Association of Schools, alleging that the policy allowing biological males to compete against women violated Title IX.<\/p>\n

The Alliance Defending Freedom is now working to appeal a ruling<\/u><\/a> by U.S. District Court Judge Robert Chatigny, who dismissed the lawsuit on procedural grounds, saying there was no dispute to resolve because the two transgender athletes have graduated, and the plaintiffs could not identify other female transgender athletes.<\/p>\n

Soule’s attorney, Christiana Kiefer, who joined her client in the Fox News interview, said women are being robbed of athletic opportunities in their own sports because of the unfair physical advantage possessed by biological men.<\/p>\n

“Girls deserve to compete on a level playing field, and what Selena experienced\u2026was being sidelined in her own sport and that\u2019s a clear violation of Title IX,” she argued.<\/p>\n

Earlier Wednesday, Hannah Arensman, a 35-time national cyclocross champion who walked away from her sport at the age of 25 after losing to a transgender competitor in the women\u2019s championships last season, revealed on Fox News that she plans to retire.<\/p>\n

Soule said she finds it “devastating” that transgender athletes are pushing women out<\/a> of their own sport.<\/p>\n

“It’s devastating that there\u00a0are women out there who are\u00a0retiring or changing their\u00a0events because they are being\u00a0forced to compete against\u00a0biological males where those\u00a0males, if they were competing in\u00a0the men\u2019s category, they would\u00a0be barely mediocre. But in the\u00a0women, they are dominating the\u00a0field, and it\u2019s a very, extremely\u00a0frustrating situation,” she told Fox News’ Sandra Smith.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“It\u00a0should not be happening.\u00a0Women\u2019s sports should be\u00a0preserved as just women\u2019s\u00a0sports,” she added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
