The Rimac Nevera<\/a> is the quickest production car in the world \u2026 pretty much any way you slice it.<\/p>\n

The $2.2 million electric car set 23 acceleration and braking records in a single day on April 30 at a test track in Germany.<\/p>\n

The 1,914 hp Nevera sprinted to 60 mph in 1.74 seconds, beating the 1.79-second mark set last year by the Pininfarina Battista<\/a>, which is built on the same battery-powered platform.<\/p>\n

It also ran a quarter-mile in 8.25 seconds and a half-mile in 12.82 seconds, the latter of which about as quick as it would cover the distance in a free fall.<\/p>\n

SO WHO BUYS A $3 MILLION ELECTRIC ITALIAN SUPERCAR ANYWAY?<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Its braking prowess was demonstrated with a run from 0 mph to 249 mph and back to 0 mph that it completed in 29.93 seconds, more than a second quicker that the previous record.<\/p>\n

The Nevera had previously claimed the title of world’s fastest electric car<\/a> last year at a certified 258 mph.<\/p>\n

Croatia-based Rimac formed a joint venture with Bugatti<\/a> in 2021 and focuses on high-end hypercars.<\/p>\n

Company founder Mate Rimac said of the Nevera’s feats, “Growing up, I always looked at the cars that made history, moving the bar for performance, in awe of the kind of revolutionary technology they brought to the road. That is what is driving me from day one \u2013 to develop new technology that redefines what is possible.”<\/p>\n

“When we set out to engineer the Nevera, our performance targets were incredibly ambitious, and we\u2019ve now managed to overshoot all of those.”<\/p>\n

The Nevera uses four electric motors and has a U.S. certified driving range of 287.28 miles per charge.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
