Boston, MA 04\/07\/2013 (wallstreetpr) \u2013 The largest maker of wireless networks in the world, Ericsson (ADR) (NASDAQ:ERIC) said that the projected increase in demand for mobile services in the U.S and the mobile-expansion mode that China is in will help in supporting the growth of the mobile market in 2013. Stability with a slight uptrend is the overall outlook for 2013 said Leif Johansson the company Chairman. He is currently attending the Asia Boao Forum in Hainan which is a southern province of China. The company\u2019s fourth quarter sales had surpassed analyst estimates after it upped its spending for upgrading its network in a bid to provide its users with better internet connectivity and faster speeds. The gross margin of the Stockholm-based company had also exceeded expectations.<\/p>\n
U.S market brighter<\/b><\/p>\n
Johansson said that he was a little more optimistic about the way the U.S market would behave. He also said that Europe seemed to have settled down and that hopefully there should be no bad news coming from that part of the world. He also sees the growth in China to be very promising and said that it will remain steady. In terms of users, China Mobile Ltd is the largest carrier in the world. Last month, it announced that it will be boosting its capital spending by 49 percent in the current year and taking it to $30.7 billion (190.2 billion yuan). The North East Asia and China sales in 2012 had accounted for around 17 percent of the total Ericsson sales.<\/p>\n
In February, the company said that it had signed a five year contract to manage VimpelCom Ltd (NYSE:VIP) (Current: $11.69, Up by 1.21%)\u2019s wireless network in the Ural and Siberia regions. The very same month it also announced that it had bagged a Reliance Communications Ltd (NSE:RCOM) (current: INR 62.85, Up by 0.325) contract worth $1 billion and will be managing the systems of the Indian Carrier.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
