Despite the always stellar life advice you can get from a movie, Erich Segal in his classic\u00a0bestseller “Love Story”\u00a0got it wrong when he wrote, “Love means never having to say you\u2019re sorry.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

That may seem true to those practicing excessive self-love in which the narcissistic insist on seeing the world through the single lens of their own point of view. But for most people, sincere contrition paves the way forward \u2026 which brings us to a short list of those making headlines who really owe a lot of people a real apology.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Here’s a countdown of the Top 10 of the formerly Rich & Infamous who owe a lot of apologies:\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 1 & 2: The Father-Son duo Joe and Hunter Biden \u2013 who see no evil and no inconvenient children.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Consider Joe “No Regrets” Biden who doesn\u2019t seem to see a problem with storing classified documents next to a luxury car in a house sometimes\u00a0controlled by his son Hunter<\/a>, who likely also needs to express regrets for some misdeeds of his own \u2026 such as\u00a0never introducing his own daughter to the extended family.\u00a0<\/p>\n

NEW LOW FOR HUNTER BIDEN: FIGHTING TO PREVENT DAUGHTER WITH EX-LOVER FROM USING HIS LAST NAME<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

As the Biden White House Christmas stocking display was\u00a0absent one small child, Joe might want to offer her apologies as well. Perhaps it\u2019s easy for a president\u00a0so fixated on abortion<\/a>\u00a0to ignore his own grandchild. Not your choice; Not your grandchild? That\u2019s regrettable.<\/p>\n

Now some people want to see the president apologize to former President Trump for calling his predecessor\u2019s document debacle\u00a0“totally irresponsible.”\u00a0But he should really add White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre<\/a> to the list, too. He should say “sorry” for sending her out like a lamb to the proverbial slaughter with bad information on a regular basis. Even more importantly, apologies could be made to\u00a0Asia Janay Lavarello\u00a0who was sentenced to prison for mishandling classified documents, like others in service who made similar mistakes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 3 & 4: Bill and Hillary Clinton \u2013 whose love for women is limited to a short list.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

And then there\u2019s the first Father and first Mother of the #MeToo movement. Sincere apologies and some true groveling are owed by Bill and Hillary Clinton<\/a> to Monica Lewinsky,\u00a0who had a #MeToo moment<\/a>\u00a0before it became more publicly obvious (in media reports at least, because mothers always knew) that men in power should not use their authority to engage with young, vulnerable staff.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The former president and secretary of state were willing to treat with ongoing disrespect\u00a0too many women who deserved the courtesy they would show their own daughter.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is all most obvious as Hillary and Chelsea <\/a>made the media rounds in their\u00a0Apple TV+ show “Gutsy”\u00a0allegedly highlighting amazing women. Just not those who worked for Bill, apparently.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Here’s a tweak to the Golden Rule: Don\u2019t do to somebody else\u2019s daughter what you wouldn\u2019t want done to your own. That includes trashing people for telling the truth.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 5, 6, 7 (and counting): Workplace abusers pretending a lack of options equals consent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

While cancel culture has gotten off track, it\u2019s important not to lose sight of the fact that the workplace can be unsafe for many people, and that whether the notorious are people like\u00a0Bill Cosby\u00a0or\u00a0Harvey Weinstein\u00a0or\u00a0Prince Andrew<\/a>, making a\u00a0case in court doesn\u2019t create innocence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Denials aren\u2019t facts; they are talking points because legally provable and morally right are not synonyms.\u00a0<\/p>\n

PRINCE HARRY’S ‘SPARE’: MEGHAN MARKLE’S ATTEMPT TO ‘DISTANCE’ HERSELF AMID HOLLYWOOD FALLOUT<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Much of the ongoing media coverage focuses on events in court, and whether the judicial system can hold the accused (or any alleged abuser) legally accountable. But killing your conscience to hide behind a judge doesn\u2019t change what happened.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 8 & 9:\u00a0Prince Harry\u00a0and Meghan, the harridan, who have turned a family feud into a better moneymaker than the TV show.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking of royals,\u00a0Prince Harry\u00a0and the harridan aka Meghan Markle<\/a>, should apologize to the world, the British people, and perhaps some of their own family members for making a family squabble a moneymaker and dragging us through their millionaires\u2019 woes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Since Harry\u2019s dad is head of the Church of England<\/a> now, perhaps a little scripture could be useful. Such as\u00a0Proverbs 17:9, “Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.”<\/p>\n

Making a documentary about your family and writing books about them don\u2019t constitute an olive branch, unless by that you mean many trees died to send your feelings worldwide.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 10: Sam Bankman-Fried, who lost billions of dollars and thinks alleged good intentions replaces income.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Also making news for “alleged” misconduct is crypto megadonor\u00a0Sam Bankman-Fried\u00a0<\/a>who as Politico reports\u00a0helped bankroll Democrats\u2019 “overperformance in the midterms.”\u00a0In his self-destruction, he wiped out billions of dollars, leaving many in despair \u2013 likely including politicians who wanted his cash.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While Bankman-Fried issued an apology of sorts, the real villain was\u00a0“irrational decisions” based on “sh—y”\u00a0circumstances, which he tried to insist were the marketplace dogs that ate his homework.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His indulgent mea culpa<\/a> sounds like a lot like the news releases from other shooting stars in online commerce these days, written by those so enamored with their mission statement they forget\u00a0to pay attention to balance sheets.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In our current culture, fueled by masters of media manipulation, an apology tour means making people love you (or hate you less) by providing a barrage of information to change the narrative.\u00a0<\/p>\n

You can do that with enough money and some great lawyers. But real people still suffer.<\/p>\n

Prominent people have teams, strategists, platforms, and celebrity\u00a0status to create a shine so bright that you can\u2019t see the truth \u2013 someone needs to apologize and mean it because making amends is at least as important as making a statement to the press.<\/p>\n
