{"id":52120,"date":"2023-01-05T14:39:34","date_gmt":"2023-01-05T19:39:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cablemanpro.com\/wallstreetpr\/biden-admin-quietly-admits-canceling-keystone-xl-pipeline-cost-thousands-of-jobs-billions-of-dollars-52120"},"modified":"2023-01-05T14:39:34","modified_gmt":"2023-01-05T19:39:34","slug":"biden-admin-quietly-admits-canceling-keystone-xl-pipeline-cost-thousands-of-jobs-billions-of-dollars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cablemanpro.com\/wallstreetpr\/biden-admin-quietly-admits-canceling-keystone-xl-pipeline-cost-thousands-of-jobs-billions-of-dollars-52120","title":{"rendered":"Biden admin quietly admits canceling Keystone XL Pipeline cost thousands of jobs, billions of dollars"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The Biden administration published a congressionally-mandated report highlighting the positive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/us\/economy\/keystone-pipeline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">economic benefits the Keystone XL Pipeline<\/a> would have had if President Biden didn&#8217;t revoke its federal permits.<\/p>\n<p>The report, which the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/biden-admin-defends-handing-lucrative-grant-energy-firm-deep-china-ties\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Energy (DOE) completed<\/a> in late December without any public announcement, says the Keystone XL project would have created\u00a0up to 59,000 jobs\u00a0and would have had a\u00a0positive\u00a0economic impact of up to $9.6 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Immediately after taking office in January 2021, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/former-keystone-xl-pipeline-worker-biden-green-agenda-lead-fuel-shortages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">canceled the pipeline&#8217;s permits<\/a>, effectively shutting the project down.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Biden administration finally owned up to what we\u00a0have known all along \u2014 killing the Keystone XL Pipeline cost\u00a0good-paying jobs, hurt Montana\u2019s economy and was the first step\u00a0in the Biden administration\u2019s war on\u00a0oil and gas production in\u00a0the United\u00a0States,&#8221;\u00a0Sen. Steve Daines. R-Mont., said in a statement Thursday. &#8220;Unfortunately, the administration continues to pursue energy production anywhere but the United States.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/former-keystone-pipeline-worker-rips-biden-comments-oil-production\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>FORMER KEYSTONE PIPELINE WORKER RIPS BIDEN AFTER COMMENTS ON OIL PRODUCTION<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These policies\u00a0may appeal to the woke left but\u00a0hurt\u00a0Montana\u2019s\u00a0working\u00a0families,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;I\u2019ll keep fighting back against Biden\u2019s anti-energy agenda and supporting Montana energy projects and jobs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The DOE was forced to issue the report after Daines and Sen. Jim Risch, R-Idaho, successfully inserted a bill mandating the report into the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Biden signed into law in November 2021. The agency was required to publish the report within 90 days of the bill&#8217;s passage but ultimately waited more than a year before releasing it.<\/p>\n<p>Biden&#8217;s decision to cancel the pipeline has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/former-keystone-pipeline-worker-says-us-energy-crisis-is-result-of-bidens-policies-we-tried-to-warn-you\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">received widespread criticism<\/a> from Republican lawmakers and energy industry representatives who have argued it would have helped keep gas prices down and ensure energy security.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Keystone XL had been slated to be completed early this year and transport an additional 830,000 barrels of crude oil from Canada to the U.S. through an exiting pipeline network, according to its operator, TC Energy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/dems-turn-hostile-dictators-oil-production-as-gas-prices-tick-up-gop-blame-war-american-energy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>DEMS TURN TO HOSTILE DICTATORS FOR OIL PRODUCTION AS GAS PRICES TICK UP, GOP BLAMES &#8216;WAR ON AMERICAN ENERGY&#8217;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The project labor agreement that TC Energy signed in August 2020 with four labor unions promised the pipeline would create 42,000 American jobs and provide $2 billion in total wages.<\/p>\n<p>TC Energy ultimately gave up on the project in June 2021 as a result of Biden&#8217;s decision.
