A survivor of Mao Zedong\u2019s communist revolution<\/a> warned on Tuesday that the Chinese Communist Party will use “any means necessary” to stop the uprising against Xi Jinping’s zero-COVID policy, which has been blamed for a number of deaths in the nation.<\/p>\n

Chaos and violent clashes<\/a> between police and protesters persisted in towns across China this week as the leader of the Chinese Communist Party tightened his grip on the nation’s COVID lockdowns and protesters ramped up demands for an end to Xi’s reign over the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Xi Van Fleet, a Virginia mother who endured Zedong’s Cultural Revolution before immigrating to the U.S., described the uprising as a “watershed moment” in an interview on “The Story” Tuesday. She offered insight into Jinping’s behavior based on her experience under communist rule.<\/p>\n

CHINA’S COVID UNREST IS \u2018MORE DANGEROUS\u2019 THAN TIANANMEN SQUARE MASSACRE, AUTHOR WARNS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

“This is extraordinary.\u00a0We\u2019re witnessing a watershed\u00a0moment,” Van Fleet told Fox News host Martha MacCallum. “During the past 75 years,\u00a0Chinese people put up [with] so much\u00a0abuse from the totalitarian\u00a0communist government.\u00a0But it was the past three years,\u00a0Xi Jinping\u2019s zero-COVID policy\u00a0that brought people to the\u00a0breaking point.”<\/p>\n

While some experts predict the current protests could signal a political turning point that leads to Xi’s undoing, Van Fleet said she is skeptical that the CCP would ever voluntarily give up control of the government.<\/p>\n

“That is a big question.\u00a0In order to answer that\u00a0question, people have to know\u00a0that the CCP was born from\u00a0violence.\u00a0[In] its 75 years of the regime, it used violence, killed up\u00a0to 100 million Chinese and it will not give up its power\u00a0voluntarily,”\u00a0she said. “It will not.\u00a0It will use anyway necessary,\u00a0any means necessary to stop the protests.”<\/p>\n

Van Fleet later fired back at China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying for defending zero-COVID<\/a> in a tweet earlier Tuesday while taking shots at the U.S. for its handling of the pandemic.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“What we want is to protect our people’s lives and ensure them a better life,” the tweet reads.<\/p>\n

Van Fleet called the sentiment “a big lie.”<\/p>\n

“The Chinese people see through it,”\u00a0she said. ” One of the triggers for the\u00a0protest is that people [are] watching the\u00a0World Cup and see a packed\u00a0stadium.\u00a0No one [is] wearing a mask.\u00a0They know that this disease and\u00a0this virus is not killing\u00a0anyone.\u00a0But it\u2019s Xi Jinping\u2019s policy\u00a0that kills countless Chinese\u00a0people.”<\/p>\n

Beijing’s hardline COVID restrictions, some of which include locking people in their homes and welding apartment doors shut, have been blamed for the tragic burning of 10 people in a building, and the death of a young child who was unable to get treatment.<\/p>\n

“The tragedy of people being\u00a0burned alive is because they\u00a0could not get out, it\u2019s\u00a0locked outside,\u00a0the mothers who lost their\u00a0baby in front of the hospital because\u00a0their Covid code is not\u00a0green, all this tragedy happened. and\u00a0people are starving to death,”\u00a0Van Fleet said.<\/p>\n

“It’s not the COVID.\u00a0It is the policy.\u00a0It\u2019s communism that killed\u00a0Chinese people.”<\/p>\n

Addressing viewers directly, Van Fleet concluded with a message cautioning supporters in the U.S. from embracing a dangerous ideology that abandons freedom.<\/p>\n

“I just want to warn [the] American people. So many young Americans bought into this idea that communism is about sharing, helping the poor. No,” she said. “Communism is about enslavement \u2013 and communism kills.”<\/p>\n
