Amazon.com, Inc (NASDAQ: AMZN)<\/strong> may not have played its role adequately, and that is because of the opposition that persists to its delivery drones among the Lockeford residents. Some rural ranch town inhabitants say that they haven’t heard anything about the new development. A small number complain about the move asserting that it invades their privacy and are against it.<\/p>\n

Amazon creates awareness<\/b><\/p>\n

Amazon had earlier reached out to the local authorities in <\/b>the rural zone, informing them about its plan to unveil the drone delivery service. It would later publicize the information, but some people in the area didn\u2019t get the information.<\/p>\n

An old lady aged 82 is one of the people that say they didn’t learn about Amazon’s latest resolve. The woman lives across the street near where the company set up its drone facility. Two nearby brothers also say nobody told them about Amazon’s plan. The two have been working to transform a neighbouring winery into a marijuana farm.<\/p>\n

It was in the previous week that Amazon gave an update indicating its plan to start the delivery of packages via drones. It would be the first time Amazon would be undertaking a move of this nature. However, most residents of Lockerford couldn’t imagine how the mega-retailer would achieve that in the United States; some still have their doubts.<\/p>\n

Questioning Amazon\u2019s way<\/b><\/p>\n

Amazon does most of its activities in an organized manner. However, it seems rather surprising how it handles affairs at other times. For example, it is fond of doing most of its projects secretly. In most instances, it uses code names. It also has a culture of negotiating tax subsidies covertly. In addition, it has secretly set up many data and fulfilment centres.<\/p>\n

Most of Amazon’s big reveals end up shocking people in the same case the drone projects shocked the residents. It is difficult to tell why the tech giant would choose to operate in such a manner with communities it intends to court.<\/p>\n

A cement contractor called Tim Blighton lives near Lockeford, and he is one of the people who seem upset with the tech giant’s move. He discloses that he once considered shooting down a neighbour’s drone, which flew over his house.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
