Amazon.com, Inc (NASDAQ: AMZN)<\/strong> will have to conduct another union election at Bessemer, Alabama, after the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Region 10 Director, Lisa Henderson, ordered them. The company held the elections in April, and its employees voted overwhelmingly against joining the Retail Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU).<\/p>\n

The RWSDU did not accept the 1798 to 738 results arguing that Amazon interfered with the election. They instead filed 23 objections against the company. The NLRB supported claims by the RWSDU by stating that Amazon placed collected ballots using a postal services mailbox set at the front of the warehouse. These boxes were also placed near surveillance cameras and might have intimidated employees. Additionally, they gave employees signs and badges that opposed the union.<\/p>\n

Amazon plays a role in air pollution at the U.S West Coast\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

In more controversial news, a report shows that Target Corporation (NYSE: TGT) and Amazon play a significant part in air pollution at ports near the U.S West Coast. The survey, which looked at ship emissions from Ikea, Walmart, Target, and Amazon, found that the four companies were responsible for 20 million metric tons of carbon dioxide. Target and Amazon, which transport most of their products through ships, were the worst.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Synk is partnering with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to integrate Synk Intelligence with Amazon Inspector, an automated security evaluation service that enhances combine and security for applications on AWS.<\/p>\n
