Over the years, several research organisations have carried out studies to understand the number of people in America who do not have access to an internet connection. A study was carried out by research group BroadbandNow. The study brought to light that an estimated 42 million Americans do not have access to an internet connection. Furthermore, another 120 million people in the U.S admitted that they do not have a fast internet connection, according to a study completed by Microsoft Corporation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>A mix of physical and wireless networks would be a solution<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In regions like Arkansas, one of the best solutions would be to have a combination of both physical and wireless networks. This technique will be cost-effective, practical in comparison with a one-size fits all solution. States are considering implementing of what will work best in the interest of the nation. Geographical challenges play a key role in determining if CBRS, Elon Musk\u2019s Starlink satellites or 5G home internet is the best solution.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Microsoft\u2019s Airband Initiative, a philanthropic program aims to bring internet to rural Americans\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Microsoft\u2019s Airband Initiative, is a philanthropic program working in the direction to make sure that more number of rural Americans have access to internet connection. Vickie Robinson, general manager of the ambitious initiative shared that the target is to make sure that three million more rural Americans online by July 2022. In a bid to achieve this, her team is doing whatever they can and is taking advantage of technology to achieve this goal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Government support also pours in\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Biden administration has introduced the infrastructure bill. Another $65 billion is included as broadband-related subsidies.
