The company has made this move when the ride-hailing industry in the United States is currently dealing with a driver shortage as demand steadily goes back to how it was pre-COVID.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The company said that many drivers and riders came back to the platform in droves during the month of July. Uber said that it expects this trend to continue throughout the year, combined with a robust food delivery demand. The company&#8217;s smaller rival, Lyft, has also highlighted the need to provide drivers and riders with incentives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Nature of incentives<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Uber drivers and delivery people will be able to access the promotions freely through the GetUpside application under this new agreement made earlier this month. Get upside, based in Washington, D.C., provides its users with customized promotions and deals that can be accessed via its proprietary app. GetUpside will help give Uber riders and drivers customized cashback deals and promotions. Promotions by GetUpside are always within the desired margins and are typically guaranteed to benefit the merchants that have access to them, creating a win-win scenario for everyone involved.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GetUpside&#8217;s Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, Alex Kinnier, said that delivery solutions and rideshare have been some of the essential services in the past year and were one reason why communities could still move. He claimed that they were delighted to be partnering with Uber to help offer the company&#8217;s riders and drivers more value while they are out on the road.
