As a result, people had to look for better solutions, and within no time, the use of Zoom rose to prominence. And to expand its offerings to enterprise clients, <strong>Zoom Video Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: ZM)<\/strong> is acquiring Five9 Inc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zoom, initiated by Yuan, the Chinese-born son of mining engineers, will spend an estimated $14.7 billion. This is an equivalent of nearly 14% of its current market capitalization, and the anticipation is to close the deal in the first half of 2022. Zoom will also part with its surging stock with an all-stock offer of $200.18 a share. This is over and above Five9&#8217;s $177.60 price.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Does the Deal Pass the Market Attractiveness Test?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yes, it does, according to Zoom&#8217;s CEO, Eric Yuan. He refers to Five9 as a &#8220;natural fit,&#8221; and a complementary to Zoom Phone. In addition, five9&#8217;s &#8220;contact center base \u2014 [it claims more than 2,000 customers] \u2014 can help to accelerate momentum in Zoom Phone and bring Five9&#8217;s leading contact center solution to Zoom&#8217;s nearly 500,000 global customers,&#8221; He <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/zoom-buy-five9-14-7-021135501.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">explained<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rowan Trollope, CEO of Five9, added the customer&#8217;s interest to have one integrated solution was a primary driver for them to join forces with Zoom. In addition, five9 had just begun to scratch the surface regarding its global reach and competes in a market for cloud services. Hence, it will take advantage of Zoom&#8217;s distribution network. Their competitors include the likes of Cisco Systems Inc., RingCentral Inc., and Amazon.com Inc.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Businesses Spend Significant Resources to Deliver a Seamless Experience<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Five9&#8217;s mission has always been to engage with its customers more meaningfully, making it easy for businesses by offering them seamless experiences. Only then can they realize more value and tangible results. And while the 20-year-old Five9 becomes an operating unit of Zoom, acquisitions are now the order of the day. At the start of the pandemic, Zoom acquired Karlsruhe Information Technology Solutions-kites GmbH, a German startup, and a translation software maker.
