The three companies are the first responders to help the patients at this difficult juncture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Ventilators in just 100 days<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jim while appearing on America\u2019s Newsroom said the company is following its footprints of the history while announcing to manufacture innovative ventilators in just 100 days. The company sees an immediate need for delivering personal protection equipment and medical devices to the patients. As a first responder to the health crisis, everyone at Ford is committed to putting in additional efforts to deliver the PPEs to the patients and healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A great collaboration with General Electric Healthcare<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Baumbick said the teams at GE Healthcare, Ford and Airon are collaborating to ramp up the production of personal protection equipment for the needy immediately. He said they are on a two-pronged approach. The teams are making improvements in the processes to improve production. They have already achieved a 40% increase in throughput from the existing lines of GE. The company is ensuring the delivery of the units immediately to the healthcare providers to provide treatment to the patients. According to Baumbick, the company is also working with Airon to ramp up production. Baumbick said his main aim is to achieve the production rate of 60 machines per hour with the help of United Auto Workers.<\/p>\n<p>Electricity is a challenge at makeshift ICUs to tackle the coronavirus pandemic. The newly designed ventilators operate with compressed oxygen and ideal for convention centers and makeshift ICUs. It meets the basic needs to support patients suffering from coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NASCAR engineers come to rescue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The NASCAR engineers contacted suppliers like Novant Health with their designs of face shields to address the shortage of personal protective equipment for healthcare workers. They have used their 3D printers to design face shields. Eight engineers at NASCAR are overseeing the work while their printers are operating eighteen hours a day.
