Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA)<\/strong> and Ford Motors (NYSE:F) <\/strong>have been challenging each other regarding their pickup truck. This comes after Tesla\u2019s promotion video of its Cybertruck claimed that the truck could effortlessly pull Ford\u2019s F-150 pickup truck.<\/p>\n

Ford challenges Tesla to apples to apples truck battle<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the video, the Cybertruck is seen pulling the F-150 uphill as the F-150 tries to move downhill. Tesla CEO Elon Musk claimed that the Cybertruck is better than the F-150 pickup truck and faster than a Porsche 911.<\/p>\n

Ford executive Sunny Madra responded to Musk stating that they should send the Cybertruck to Ford for it to carry out the apples to apples test for them. In return, Musk told Ford to bring it on. However, this might not be something that Ford may want.<\/p>\n

It is unlikely that Ford might want the contest and Sunny\u2018s tweet was just pointing on the absurdity of the video. A Ford spokesman stated that the company has been producing the best trucks for 42 years<\/a> and it\u2019s focused on providing customers the best despite what others do or say.<\/p>\n

Tesla\u2019s truck battle was unmatched <\/strong><\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the truck tug-of-war video drew mixed sentiments from different people. A Motor1 blog writer indicated that the F-150 that the Cybertruck was pulling was a rear-wheel-drive truck because only the back wheels were spinning. Therefore this made the whole battle unevenly matched. Tesla’s futuristic truck is an all-wheel-drive which means it will have an advantage since it could tow with its four wheels.<\/p>\n

Equally the Motor1 post indicated that from the look of things Tesla chose the 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 engine.<\/a> This is far from the strongest engine in the F-Series pick truck. Interestingly Tesla has not indicated the type of F-150 they picked for the truck battle. Another aspect identified is the issue of weight. Ford pickup didn\u2019t have a load to give its rear wheels traction and for the Cybertruck it has heavy battery packs which means it weighs more than the F-150. Weight offers an advantage when towing in the form of better traction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
