US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency had earlier expressed its intention to work with the search giant. However, the plan won\u2019t go through because Google may eventually bow to the opinion of its employees.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Employees pin down Google<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The employees filed a petition to bar the company from making the move. The lawyers representing the employees highlighted the death toll of seven immigrant children under US custody. They also cited the \u201czero tolerance\u201d immigration policy that the Trump administration supports.<\/p>\n<p>If the petition goes through, a number of agencies will be affected. These include the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), CBP and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).<\/p>\n<p>The Search giant\u2019s employees require that the company makes a public declaration as soon as possible regarding the matter. They believe the right thing is for Google to make a commitment by stating that it won\u2019t be supporting the agencies. They are against any direct or indirect support being offered to CBP, ICE or ORR.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The employees\u2019 ultimatum<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>These agencies may miss out support in the line of engineering resources, funding or infrastructure from the search guru. One of the lawyers representing employees outlines that the move is targeted towards disciplining these agencies. The trend may continue until they stop their engagement in the human rights abuse.<\/p>\n<p>The petition indicates that time has finally come to say no to evils of these agencies. An official working with the company confirms that they have already obtained the signs of over 500 employees. He adds that it was in July when the specific contract the petition relates to got posted for the first time. However, the official can\u2019t tell whether or not the search guru had already bid for the project. He also doesn\u2019t know if the company has any such plans underway.<\/p>\n<p>The ongoing petition happens to be the most recent sign of discontent among the Company\u2019s employees.
