(NYSE:TWTR)<\/strong> has indicated that in the next few weeks the company will offer its users context regarding the unavailable tweets that users encounter in a conversation thread instead of the note they receive \u201cThis Tweet is unavailable.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>\u201cTweet is unavailable\u201d issue to be fixed <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The company is looking to add context to the notices to cut on the confusion that users encounter when reading tweets only to find out that some tweets are missing for no apparent reason. On Friday Twitter Support indicated that they are fixing the issue.<\/p>\n<p>There are a variety of reasons that can make a tweet unavailable and the Support indicated that it may be a result of some keywords that the user has muted, or the tweets have been deleted or a result of protected tweets. The company has not specified what the expected notices will look like but has given assurance that they will be an upgrade of the current notices like labeling of tweets that have violated terms of service or the notice users receive from an account that a user has blocked.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter Product Lead Kayvon Beykpour stated that they are going to make changes regarding the issue of \u201cTweet is unavailable\u201d so that they can be transparent to users on what might be going on. He added that the appearance of \u2018unavailable&#8217; message in the placeholder row is a recent behavior that is confusing users and it should be hidden.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>More account changes <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Besides the changes on \u2018unavailable tweets,&#8217; the company has also been experimenting using profile photo icons to provide extra information regarding replies in tweets. For instance currently, people mentioned in the original tweet are denoted by the \u2018@&#8217; symbol and the original post has a microphone symbol on their profile photo to show when they have replied to their thread.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from making the reading of conversations easier, the changes will also help with a common twitter scam in which users with the same name and profile photo respond to their tweets that are related to Bitcoin scams. The changes will make it easier to discern original tweet replies from scam accounts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Twitter Inc.
