Through the program, entrepreneurs will be given office space, professional advice and support. Entrepreneurs under the program will also interact with a community of like-minded individuals with the same goal of growing ETC eco-system.<\/p>\n<p>The incubator for ETC based innovations is a strategy by the ETC community to increase the crptos\u2019 market presence. The community pushing for Ethereum classic recognition was opposed to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livebitcoinnews.com\/the-dao-community-shudders-with-misfortune\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2016 creation<\/a> of Ethereum blockchain meant to recoup $50 million looted from funds raised through the company\u2019s Decentralized Autonomous Organization ICO.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@etclabsnews\/an-interview-with-elizabeth-kukka-b44d45d86b9f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published<\/a> in Ethereum Classic\u2019s blog, Elizabeth Kukka, Program Director at ETC labs discussed at length about her contributions to the ETC Labs, her views on the ETC Blockchain and the future of ETC.<\/p>\n<p>With the pilot incubator program, Kukka and team are expecting to gather feedback from the six projects selected for the program. The feedback will inform the lab\u2019s decision making ahead of the official launch of the program in the first quarter of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The program is having a successful run with over 120 applications in waiting. However, the lab will prioritize projects that leverage the ETC blockchain. The project is strictly Ethereum Classic-based and in the lab\u2019s defense Kukka states that \u201cthere is a lot of security on the main layer (Ethereum Classic\u2019s), and it doesn\u2019t really matter what sidechains are used in conjunction to this. Also, the Ethereum Classic space is very competitive, with a lot of good ideas and startups with immense potential for growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Future of the program<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.livebitcoinnews.com\/etc-labs-launches-incubator-pilot-program-to-support-ethereum-classic-based-startups\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">20-24 projects<\/a> will go through the program each year. However, the lab has a capacity of half those projects at any given time. Projects that will qualify for the program will have to showcase exemplary technical skills coupled with the ability to build on the ETC blockchain.<\/p>\n<p>Kukka is encouraging projects to apply for the program so as to benefit from facilities in the lab and assistance from mentors in the industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ethereum Classic has rolled out the trial for its incubator that will be targeting innovative projects that are creating new applications for the ETC.
