Liquidity Services (NASDAQ: LQDT) has been listed at the number 35 spot<\/a> in the 2012 Forbes List of America\u2019s 100 Best Small Publicly Traded Companies. This is the fifth consecutive year that the company has made it on this list. In 2011, Liquidity Services was at a much lower ranking, coming in at number 86 on the list. Over the last year, the company has displayed a strong progress-oriented performance and this has resulted in a boost in ranking on the list.<\/p>\n

What Forbes Looks Into<\/strong><\/p>\n

The companies featured on the Forbes List are judged on a variety of parameters. In the list of America\u2019s 100 Best Small Publicly Traded Companies, only companies that display sales of under $1 billion are considered. These companies are then ranked on parameters like sales growth, return on equity and earnings growth over the past year as well as over the last five years. Another factor that is considered in the rankings is the stock performance of the company as compared to that of the company\u2019s peer group over the last year.<\/p>\n

Liquidity Services has rated high on all of these parameters. It has recorded a compound annual growth rate of 31% in the marketplace GMV or Gross Merchandise Volume. From the 2002 to 2011, the company\u2019s adjusted EBITDA increased by 40%. These strong numbers are certainly worth mentioning.<\/p>\n

Liquidity Services is basically a leading online marketplace for surplus goods. It caters to leading corporations as well as public sector agencies. Liquidity Services is currently one of the most actively traded common stocks listed on the NASDAQ. Share prices of the company closed today at $41.55 per share, which is $0.03 or nearly 0.1% lower than yesterday’s closing. The highest share price recorded on October 26, 2012, was $43.39 per share. Market capitalization of the company is recorded at $1.3 billion.<\/p>\n
