(NASDAQ:AAPL) To Switch To OLED Displays"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Electronic Times from South Korea has reported that <strong>Apple Inc.<\/strong><strong> (NASDAQ:AAPL)<\/strong> will switch to the OLED displays for all its future iPhones. Currently, the leading mobile manufacturer uses IPS LCD as a display for its mobile devices. Many still consider it a rumor; however, cited reports from Nikkei and Reuters discuss the intention of the company to add the feature of gorgeous screen tech to its 2018 iPhone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These rumors have been making rounds for many years although the latest reports suggest that finally Apple is planning to make a switch over. Companies such as Samsung Display and <strong>Laclede Group Inc<\/strong> (<strong>NYSE:LG)<\/strong> are in close talks with Apple. According to the Electronic Times report both the Korean companies are in close discussion with Cupertino and are planning to invest together a capital of around $12.8 billion to build up the capacity for producing the required amount of OLED in the coming two to three years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>OLED Screens for 2018 iPhones<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Last month\u2019s report support the plans of Apple to use OLED screens for its iPhone devices in 2018 whereas it will continue with the LCD for the iPhone 7 mobiles. According to Reuters, Apple will also be offering some financial support to the joint venture of Samsung and LG. It should be noted that the leading mobile manufacturing company is already using OLED, albeit in a very smaller form for Apple Watch.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0Are OLED\u2019s Better Than LCD\u2019s?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Why does Apple want to switch over to OLED displays? It is because OLED screens are much thinner as compared to the currently used LCD iPhone screens and, therefore, allows deeper blacks. Apple has used the feature quite aptly in Apple Watch wherein no one can tell the end and beginning of the display.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Moreover, with most of the content in black, OLED comes across as more power-efficient in comparison to LCD.
